What's new in the DAT - October 2026
The October updates introduce new themes inspired by HSoft’s colour scheme. You can choose between a dark theme or a light theme (if you’d rather turn your screen into a torch). Several other useful new features have been added, such as named versions in the page history and greater control over how channels are aggregated and compared. Multiline charts and chart copies are now faster, and large uploads are resumable. Here is a short tour.
A new look - dark and light themes
The DAT has a new visual identity, built on the colours of hsoft.io. The dark theme stays the default, and a light theme is now one click away: open the menu under your name and choose Theme, then Dark, Light or Same as the system.

The choice is saved in your browser. Whatever the theme, report sheets are white, and a chart you copy or print is drawn on white, the way it will look in your document.
Page history - checkpoints and unsaved changes
Checkpoints
A checkpoint gives a name to a version of a page, such as the version the race engineers validated or the last state before a rework. Each checkpoint can be previewed or restored.
Open the History panel, click Checkpoint, give it a name and, if you like, a note.

Unsaved changes, always in sight
Your changes are stored in your browser until you save them. While there are unsaved changes to a page, a more visible bar is displayed to inform you that the page differs from the version on the server.

Aggregation by level - one function per level
Some questions can be answered with a single aggregation. For trickier cases, a new fine-grain aggregation control is available. If you’d like to see the maximum speed per run, averaged per session, this new feature is perfect for you (and nobody will judge your chart).

Lap selection - one lap per driver
Until now, ticking two drivers and two laps selected both laps of both drivers. You can now pick a lap for each driver (or for each run): lap 12 of one driver and lap 15 of the other give 2 laps, not 4.

As this is a new feature, the option must be activated on each page.
Average lines - on maps and multiline charts
Maps and multiline charts can now draw the average of their series. On a map, the average is taken across the track, so you can compare a driver's line with the line everyone took. On a multiline chart, each channel gets its own average, and the chart can also fill the range the series spread over.
Group by computes one average per driver, for example, whatever the legend shows.
Draw the average lines alone hides the series the average is computed from.
Let the reader switch from the legend adds a button that switches between the views, kept in sync across the charts of a tab.
Averages can be named with a template

Scale groups - compare charts on one range
Two charts side by side can only be compared when their axes cover the same range. Give the Y-axis of several charts the same Scale group name: they share one range, the one that holds the values of all of them, and zooming on one zooms the others.

Table separators - structure your tables

Tables can now hold separators. This feature is useful when you add 100 lines and want to maintain good readability.
Separators are available in any direction.
Folder authorizations - control user access
A folder in the menu can now have its own permissions. If you decide that a group of users has no reason to see a folder, you can restrict access to all pages (and subfolders) with a one-time configuration.

Libraries - mix databases in one library
A channel library is no longer tied to a single database. Each channel can be linked to the database it belongs to, so related channels can live in one library even when their data comes from different databases.
Other improvements
Large file uploads: Upload files, folders, and videos without stress. Even if your internet connection plays hide-and-seek, your upload will resume automatically.
Copy to clipboard now takes a fraction of the time it used to.
Multiline charts respond faster when you display, translate or zoom.
Try it out
All these features are available now. Try them on your pages and let us know what you think.
